Data Communication & Networks Assignment
Our group has created a private ThingSpeak channel named "Winnipeg Dew Point" with channel ID of 1319549 since 5th March 2021.
Below are the results graphs obtained from our channel. The data of temperature and relative humidity of Winnipeg, Canada are obtained from a Thingspeak public channel which is a weather station with channel ID of 582456.
Field 1 Chart (Winnipeg's Temperature)
Field 1 chart is the graph of Winnipeg's temperature in degree Celsius. Winnipeg is the coldest capital city of Manitoba in Canada has a four distinct seasons which are Winter, Summer, Autumn and Spring is the shortest season of all. Based on the graph above, we can analyze the daily temperature of Winnipeg in the span of two weeks.
Field 2 Chart (Winnipeg's Relative Humidity)
Field 2 chart shows the relative humidity of Winnipeg. Based on the field 2, we can determine the humidity of the weather in Winnipeg to know the level of moisture in the atmosphere.
The data of temperature and relative humidity are then collected and used to calculate the dew point of Winnipeg.
Field 3 Chart (Winnipeg's Dew Point)
Field 3 chart shows the calculated dew point of Winnipeg since 5th March 2021. Dew point is the temperature point where the water vapour in air will be cooled to condense into dew or liquid water which will increase the humidity of the air. We can say that the higher the dew point, the more moisture in the air, the muggier it will feel in the air.
Matlab Visualization Chart of Winnipeg's Dew Point Measurement
The Matlab Visualization chart above shows the combination of the three graphs of temperature, relative humidity and calculated dew point of Winnipeg in Field 1, 2 and 3 respectively. Relative humidity is higher when there is a small difference between the dew point temperature and the actual temperature.
Based on the two weeks real time analysis of weather data, it is confirmed that Winnipeg has a relatively hot and humid weather during the Spring season around the months of March and April.
